Cao Xudong
Cao Xudong earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University in 2008 and built his early career in computer-vision research, working as a researcher at Microsoft Research in Beijing. In April 2015 he joined SenseTime, the Chinese deep-learning and computer-vision company, as a research director, and was promoted to executive director of research and development within six months. In September 2016 he left SenseTime to found Momenta in Beijing, aiming to build the 'brains' for autonomous driving, and has served as CEO since. Under his leadership Momenta pursued a two-track strategy — mass-production driver-assistance software alongside full robotaxi-grade autonomy — and became China's first autonomous-driving unicorn. MIT Technology Review named him one of its Innovators Under 35 in China in 2018.
