What is Fobi?
Fobi is a research and intelligence platform for frontier technology. It continuously tracks the companies, funding, patents, hiring, and news shaping emerging sectors — from AI and semiconductors to robotics, quantum, and defense — and distils them into structured company profiles, daily briefs, and AI-generated analysis.
The goal is simple: help you understand where technology is heading earlier and more clearly, without drowning in fragmented news and hype.
What is The Briefing?
The Briefing is Fobi's free morning intelligence edition, seven days a week. It connects the most important frontier-technology developments to the sectors and companies they will shape.
Each edition can be read or listened to in under 10 minutes.
How much does Fobi cost?
Nothing. Fobi is free — every sector, every company profile, the daily Briefing, the jobs board, Frontier TV, the investor directory. There is no trial and nothing to buy.
Your email is the ticket. Signing up subscribes you to The Briefing, the free daily audio newsletter, and everything on the site opens with it.
How many companies and sectors does Fobi cover?
Fobi currently tracks 1,200+ companies across 30 live sectors, with further sectors in active development.

Why do I need to give my email?
Because the newsletter is the product. Fobi stopped charging in September 2026; instead of a paid tier, it is built on The Briefing, the free daily email. Signing up for the site and subscribing to The Briefing are the same thing — one email, one click on the link we send, no password, no card.
Without an email you can still read the page you land on and today's Briefing. Everything else is behind the sign-up.
Can I unsubscribe?
Yes, with one click at the bottom of any edition. One thing to know: because The Briefing is how Fobi works, unsubscribing also pauses your access to the site. You can come back any time with a single click, and your account is never deleted.
We never sell or share your address. It is used for The Briefing and to sign you in, nothing else.
I had a paid subscription. What happens to it?
Monthly subscriptions were cancelled in September 2026, so you will not be charged again. Annual subscribers were refunded the unused portion of their year to the card they paid with.
Your account stays exactly as it is — same email, same sign-in. If you need an invoice or want to check a refund, the Stripe customer portal is still reachable from your account page.
Is there a plan for teams or companies?
There is no need for one — Fobi is free for everyone, so your whole team can use it. Anyone can sign in with their email via magic link; there is nothing to purchase or administer.
Where does Fobi's data come from?
Fobi aggregates and synthesises information from public sources, including SEC EDGAR filings, USPTO patent records, company disclosures, and reputable industry news.
Where AI-generated synthesis is used — briefs, bull and bear cases, funding and sector analysis — sources are cited. We are progressively integrating licensed data providers and proprietary datasets to deepen coverage over time.
How often is the platform updated?
Most data pipelines refresh daily; some sources update weekly, monthly, or quarterly depending on their cadence. AI analysis layers are regenerated as new information becomes available.
Is anything on Fobi investment advice?
No.
Fobi is a research and intelligence platform. Nothing on it constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice, and it should not be relied upon as such.
How is Fobi different from ChatGPT or Perplexity?
General-purpose assistants are excellent at answering a question in the moment.
