Delphi is defining a category — "conversational media" — with the most credible backer list in the personal-clone space: a $16M Series A led by Sequoia in June 2025 (about $18.7M total, on top of a $2.7M seed), with participation from Menlo's Anthology Fund, Michael Ovitz's Crossbeam, and Olivia Wilde's Proximity Ventures, layered over earlier Founders Fund and Lux backing. The traction beneath the round is real: revenue grew 4x and headcount doubled between November 2024 and the raise, and thousands of Digital Minds have been created since the December 2023 beta by exactly the customer Delphi wants — authors, coaches, consultants, and experts whose economics are constrained by hours in the day. The design choices compound into a moat. Mandatory ID verification means every Digital Mind is created by the actual person, sidestepping the impersonation swamp that dooms open clone platforms, and the ingestion flow — connect your writing, podcasts, and social content, refine the clone's knowledge — creates a data asset that deepens with use and does not port to a competitor. The business model rides an existing behavior: the creator-economy expert already sells courses, coaching, and communities; Delphi converts that into a 24/7, any-language, per-conversation product with near-zero marginal cost, monetizing time the expert never had to sell. If even a modest slice of the coaching, courses, and expert-content market shifts to conversational access, the verified-identity clone layer is a venture-scale outcome, and Sequoia's imprimatur gives Delphi the recruiting and distribution gravity to be the one that defines it. Founder Dara Ladjevardian has publicly framed 2026 as the adoption tipping point.
