Cogwear

James S. Riepe University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania with joint appointments in Neuroscience, Psychology, and Marketing at the Perelman School of Medicine, the School of Arts & Sciences, and the Wharton School. He holds a B.A. from Yale and a Ph.D. from Penn, both in anthropology, with a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience at NYU. He founded and directs the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative and created the executive education course "Neuroscience of Business." His lab's work on decision neuroscience and neural correlates of social behaviour underpins Cogwear's wearable brain-monitoring platform.

Neuroscientist and co-founder of Cogwear, where he serves as Principal Neuroscientist. He holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the National Brain Research Centre (India) and a B.E. in Telecommunications from BMS College of Engineering. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Nicolelis Lab at Duke University's Center for Neuroengineering (2012–2015) and then joined Michael Platt's lab at Penn as a Research Associate, where the two developed Cogwear's EEG platform in 2018. He also holds an assistant professorship in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering at IIT Kanpur.
