Tan Le
Born in South Vietnam and migrated to Australia as a refugee. She completed a combined Honours degree in Law and Commerce at Monash University in 1998, beginning her studies at 16. Her first company, SASme, was a pioneer in SMPP platforms for Australian telecoms and SMS application markets, growing to 35 employees across multiple locations. Named Young Australian of the Year in 1998 and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, she has appeared in Forbes's "50 Names You Need to Know" and Fast Company's Most Influential Women in Technology. She co-founded Emotiv in 2011 to build consumer EEG headsets for neuroscience research and brain monitoring.
