Ana Maiques
Economist-turned-medtech CEO born in Valencia, Spain. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona and an MBA from London Metropolitan University. She joined the Belgian company Starlab's Barcelona division in 1999, and when Starlab declared bankruptcy in 2001, she led a management buyout of the research unit with Giulio Ruffini and Manel Adell. She founded Neuroelectrics in 2011 as a Starlab spin-off focused on non-invasive brain stimulation, and opened a Boston office in 2014. She received Goldman Sachs's Most Exceptional Entrepreneurs award in 2022 and appeared on the Inspiring Fifty Europe list in 2015 and 2016.
