Avnos is a Direct Air Capture company founded in 2020 and based in Los Angeles, United States. It has raised $80M in total funding, most recently a Series A in 2024.

Frontier coalition raises $915M for carbon removal purchases and adds Anthropic as a member.
A direct air capture system that captures both CO2 and water from ambient air in a single unit using a moisture-swing sorbent, requiring no thermal energy to regenerate. Because it runs at ambient temperature and co-produces clean water rather than consuming it, HDAC sidesteps the heat demand and water losses of conventional DAC. Avnos says it yields several tons of water per ton of CO2 captured. Its Project Cedar deployment will run four HDAC modules capturing about 3,000 metric tons of CO2 and producing over 6,000 tons of water annually, supported by Shell and Mitsubishi Corporation.
