Infinium

Infinium is attacking the fuels that batteries and hydrogen can't easily reach — aviation and heavy transport — with drop-in electrofuels that need no new engines or infrastructure. Its Power-to-Liquids process combines captured waste CO2 with green hydrogen made from renewable power to synthesize e-SAF and e-Diesel that are chemically identical to their fossil counterparts, meaning airlines and truckers can decarbonize without touching their fleets or fueling networks. That "no new hardware" property is the killer feature in sectors where asset lives run decades. The proof points are stacking: its first facility, Project Pathfinder, began producing eFuels in 2023 with output contracted to Amazon for freight decarbonization, and the flagship Project Roadrunner in Reeves County, West Texas took final investment decision and broke ground, positioned to become North America's largest PtL plant. The capital and partner stack is unusually deep for a first-of-a-kind fuels project: Brookfield committed up to $1.1B to scale Infinium's projects, Breakthrough Energy Catalyst put in a $75M equity commitment for Roadrunner, HSBC provided project financing in June 2025, Electric Hydrogen's 100MW HYPRPlant supplies the hydrogen, and NextEra provides 150MW of wind under a long-term PPA. Long-term offtakes with American Airlines and IAG (British Airways' parent) anchor the demand side. With SAF mandates tightening in the EU and UK, Infinium is one of the few players with a genuinely scalable, mandate-compliant synthetic pathway under construction rather than on a slide.
