InPlanet is a Carbon Removal (CDR) company founded in 2022 and based in Berlin, Germany. It has raised $5.8M in total funding, most recently a Seed in 2023.
Founded in 2022 by Felix Harteneck and Niklas Kluger, InPlanet operates between Berlin and Brazil, where more than 70% of its team is based. The company spreads pulverized silicate rock on tropical farmland, where the minerals react with CO2 and water in the soil to form stable bicarbonates while remineralizing the soil for farmers. InPlanet signed an agreement to deliver 28,500 enhanced rock weathering carbon removal credits to Microsoft, and raised a roughly €4.3 million (~$4.6 million) seed round in October 2023 led by FoodLabs and Salvia, following a €1.2 million pre-seed in early 2023.
It is one of the leading enhanced-weathering CDR players adapting the method to high-reactivity tropical soils, with an early Microsoft offtake.
