Jupiter Intelligence sits on the demand side of the climate crisis that is arriving regardless of any policy debate: physical risk. Its ClimateScore platform produces hyper-local, asset-level predictions of flood, heat, wind, drought, fire, hail, and precipitation across scenarios out to 2100, translating climate science into the risk scores and financial-loss estimates that enterprises, insurers, and governments now need to price exposure. The customer base is the tell — Global 2000 corporations plus U.S. agencies including the Department of Defense and FEMA — because physical-risk analytics are shifting from optional to mandatory inputs for regulatory disclosure, insurance underwriting, and capital allocation as extreme weather intensifies and losses mount. Jupiter has compounded that position with product and channel moves: a CSRD-aligned module for EU disclosure, a generative-AI layer, and in November 2025 both a global strategic partnership with engineering giant Arcadis and a Jupiter Adaptation Hub positioned around audit-ready adaptation ROI — pushing beyond risk measurement into the far larger adaptation-spending market. It has raised roughly $86M across its rounds, led by a $54M Series C (2021, MPower Partners and Clearvision), and competes credibly against incumbents Moody's and Verisk with a science-first, physics-based modeling pedigree from its founding scientists. As climate disclosure regimes proliferate and insurers retreat from at-risk geographies, the analytics layer that quantifies where and how much becomes essential infrastructure.

Jupiter's last disclosed primary round was the 2021 Series C, and the roughly $86M raised is thin for a company squaring off against Moody's and Verisk — incumbents with vastly larger balance sheets, entrenched enterprise relationships, and their own fast-growing climate-risk divisions that can bundle physical-risk analytics into existing data contracts Jupiter must win standalone. The multi-year gap since that Series C, in a capital-intensive data business, raises the question of whether growth or fundraising has stalled while the category commoditizes. And commoditize it may: physical climate-risk modeling is increasingly a crowded field — First Street, Cervest, and a dozen others compete on similar hazard layers, and the underlying climate models are largely public science, so differentiation rests on data engineering and calibration that are replicable rather than defensible. Regulatory tailwinds cut both ways; the U.S. disclosure environment has grown politically contested, and if mandated climate reporting weakens, a meaningful slice of demand softens with it. Selling to government agencies like DoD and FEMA brings long procurement cycles and budget-cycle exposure. Model accuracy is a permanent liability — a wrong risk score that misprices a real disaster is a reputational and potentially legal event. Jupiter has a strong pedigree and marquee logos, but pedigree does not settle whether it can out-fund and out-distribute Moody's and Verisk in a category those incumbents have decided they want.
