LanzaJet is an Industrial Decarbonization company founded in 2020 and based in Deerfield, United States.

Spun out of LanzaTech in 2020 and led by CEO Jimmy Samartzis, Deerfield, Illinois-based LanzaJet commercializes an alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) process that converts ethanol — including low-carbon and waste-derived sources — into sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, cutting greenhouse-gas emissions by more than 70% versus conventional jet fuel. Its Freedom Pines Fuels plant in Soperton, Georgia opened in 2024 as the world's first ethanol-to-SAF production facility, designed for roughly 9 million gallons of SAF and 1 million gallons of renewable diesel per year. Backers and shareholders include Breakthrough Energy, the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund, Southwest Airlines, Shell, Suncor, IAG, and LanzaTech.

Alcohol-to-jet is one of the few SAF pathways at commercial scale, and LanzaJet licenses its technology to seed plants worldwide.
