Enhanced rock weathering for smallholder farms

Mati Carbon distributes finely crushed basalt to smallholder farmers in India, Tanzania, and Zambia and spreads it across their fields, where rainwater and soil reactions accelerate the natural weathering that converts atmospheric CO2 into stable bicarbonate. The basalt also releases nutrients that rejuvenate soils, improve crop productivity, and reduce farmers' need for purchased inputs, all at no cost to the growers. Mati pairs the deployment with measurement and verification to quantify durable removal, and as a nonprofit-backed effort it directs value toward farmers among the most vulnerable to climate change.
