Founded in 2009, Cloudflare operates one of the world's largest edge networks, spanning data centers in 330+ cities and serving as the connectivity, security, and performance layer for millions of internet properties. Its product portfolio ranges from CDN, DDoS mitigation, WAF, and DNS to the Workers serverless platform, Workers AI for edge inference, and a Zero Trust security suite. Cloudflare went public on the NYSE in 2019 and is a public company; it processes a large share of global web traffic and blocks billions of cyber threats daily. In May 2026 it cut roughly 20% of its workforce even as it reported a record Q1 2026 of $639.8 million in revenue, up 34% year-over-year, and its pay-per-crawl experiment is evolving into a broader 'Pay Per Use' model, with mixed-use crawlers that do not separate search crawling from AI training blocked by default for new and free-tier sites from September 15, 2026.
