Scaleway

Scaleway is the cloud arm of French telecom group Iliad, established under the Scaleway brand in 2015 and led by founder Arnaud de Bermingham, having grown out of Iliad's Online.net hosting roots. It offers a full developer cloud spanning virtual instances, bare metal servers, managed Kubernetes, object storage, serverless, and GPU compute for AI workloads, operated from its own European data centers. Scaleway positions itself as a sovereign, environmentally conscious European alternative to the US hyperscalers, with a strong pitch to developers and startups on the continent. It was selected under the European Commission's roughly €180 million Cloud III sovereign-cloud dynamic purchasing system, opened a new region in Milan, and sits at the center of Iliad's €3 billion cloud and AI investment program.
