Together AI

Vipul Ved Prakash co-founded Together AI in 2022 and serves as CEO. He earned a computer science degree from St. Stephen's College in Delhi in 1997 and went on to engineering roles at startups including Napster. He created the open-source spam filter Vipul's Razor, which ran on millions of servers, and in 2001 founded Cloudmark to commercialize that anti-spam technology; in 2007 he founded the social-media search and analytics company Topsy, later acquired by Apple. He started Together AI to build an open cloud platform for training and running generative AI models.

Ce Zhang co-founded Together AI in 2022 and serves as CTO. He came to the company from ETH Zurich, where his research focused on data management for machine learning and distributed training of large models. His academic work on efficient and distributed ML systems underpins Together AI's approach to fast, cost-effective model training and inference on its cloud platform.

Chris Ré is a co-founder of Together AI and a professor of computer science at Stanford University. His lab has produced foundational research on data-centric AI and machine-learning systems, and he is a MacArthur Fellow whose work has spun out into several companies. He helped found Together AI in 2022 to advance open and efficient infrastructure for generative AI.

Percy Liang is a co-founder of Together AI and an associate professor of computer science at Stanford University, where he directs the Center for Research on Foundation Models (CRFM). His research spans natural language processing, machine learning, and the evaluation and understanding of foundation models. He co-founded Together AI in 2022 to support open development of large-scale AI models.

Tri Dao is a co-founder and Chief Scientist of Together AI and an assistant professor at Princeton University. He completed his PhD in computer science at Stanford and is best known as the creator of FlashAttention, a hardware-aware attention algorithm that delivers large speedups for transformer training and inference and has become a de facto standard across major AI labs; he is also a co-author of the Mamba sequence-model architecture. He joined Together AI in 2023 as Chief Scientist, releasing FlashAttention-2 to further accelerate model training and inference.
