The company was founded by CEO Said Ouissal along with Christine Sheets and Vijay Tapaskar, and its platform is built on EVE, an open-source, lightweight edge operating system contributed to the Linux Foundation's LF Edge that focuses on security and remote manageability. In February 2024 ZEDEDA raised a $72 million Series C led by Smith Point Capital, with returning investors including Lux Capital, Juniper Networks, and Porsche Ventures, bringing total funding above $127 million. In January 2025 it opened a Middle East regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi backed by a strategic investment of undisclosed size from Alpha Wave Incubation and Aramco's Prosperity7, and entered 2026 with strong momentum, reporting that new-customer acquisition doubled and that roughly half of its customers are Fortune 500 or Global 500 companies.
