Demis Hassabis
Started in video games: co-designed and lead-programmed the multi-million-selling simulation game Theme Park at age 17, then founded Elixir Studios after graduating from Cambridge with a Double First in Computer Science. Later earned a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London investigating memory and imagination, followed by postdocs at MIT and Harvard seeking brain-inspired algorithmic ideas.
