Joshua Xu
Holds a Master's degree in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University and completed undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at Tongji University. Spent six years as a key engineer at Snapchat, where he advanced ad ranking, machine learning platforms, and computational photography, including building Snapchat's advertising platform, recommendation algorithm system, and the billion-scale data machine learning platform, Barista. Co-founded HeyGen with Wayne Liang in 2020. His leadership reflects a pragmatic belief in AI as an amplifier of human creativity—he argues that "AI accentuates and builds on people's natural imagination and innovation" and when used effectively, AI amplifies human creativity rather than replacing it.
