CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) is a publicly traded Endpoint & XDR company founded in 2011 and based in Austin, United States.
Founded in 2011 by George Kurtz, Dmitri Alperovitch, and Gregg Marston, CrowdStrike pioneered cloud-delivered endpoint detection and response with its single-agent Falcon platform, which spans endpoint protection, extended detection and response (XDR), threat intelligence, identity protection, and cloud security. The company went public on Nasdaq in 2019 (ticker CRWD) and was added to the S&P 500 in 2024. In July 2024 a faulty Falcon sensor update caused a global IT outage affecting millions of Windows machines, one of the most consequential incidents in the company's history. CrowdStrike remains one of the largest pure-play cybersecurity vendors by revenue and market capitalization.
