Dropzone AI

Dropzone is a small, roughly $37M-Series-B startup in what has become the single most crowded battlefield in security, where it is out-resourced from every direction. The platform incumbents are moving hard into the exact same autonomous-SOC territory: CrowdStrike's Charlotte AI, Microsoft's Security Copilot, Google's agentic SOC push, and Palo Alto all bundle AI triage into platforms customers already own — the classic bundling squeeze that has killed countless point products. Simultaneously, a swarm of well-funded AI-SOC startups (Prophet Security, Simbian, Torq, Radiant, and others) chases the same buyer, so Dropzone must out-execute both giants and peers at once. The category's core promise is also unproven at scale: an AI analyst that reaches wrong verdicts — missing a real attack or drowning teams in confident false conclusions — is worse than no automation, and enterprise trust in fully autonomous investigation is still being earned, which lengthens sales cycles and caps how much of the workflow customers will cede. The 11x ARR growth is impressive but off a tiny base, where large multiples are easy; the absolute numbers remain small against the competition's resources. In-Q-Tel backing opens government doors but those sales cycles are long. Being an early, well-regarded pure-play in a hot category is precarious when the category's economics may accrue to whoever already owns the SOC.
