Zscaler (NASDAQ: ZS) is a publicly traded Network & Zero Trust company founded in 2007 and based in San Jose, United States.
Founded in 2007 by serial security entrepreneur Jay Chaudhry and K. Kailash, Zscaler built a globally distributed cloud platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, that brokers secure connections between users, devices, and applications without placing users on the corporate network. The model replaces legacy castle-and-moat appliances such as VPNs and firewalls with inline, identity-aware policy enforcement delivered as a service. Zscaler went public on Nasdaq in 2018 (ticker ZS) and has grown into one of the largest pure-play cloud-security vendors, with a security service edge (SSE) and SASE platform used by a large share of the Fortune 500. It is headquartered in San Jose, California.
Zscaler popularized the cloud-delivered zero-trust model and is the category leader in security service edge, making it central to enterprises retiring VPNs and perimeter firewalls.
