Prukalpa Sankar
Earned a B.Eng in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and in her final year there co-founded SocialCops (2013) with classmate Varun Banka — a data-for-good company that built data platforms for the United Nations, the Gates Foundation, and the Government of India, and was named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. Frustrated watching context evaporate every time data moved between teams and tools, she and Banka turned the internal collaboration tooling they had built for their own data team into Atlan, founded in 2018 and launched publicly in 2020 as an active-metadata catalog and governance platform. As Founder & Co-CEO she has raised more than $206M from Insight Partners, Sequoia, Salesforce Ventures, GIC, and Meritech Capital — including a $105M Series C at a $750M valuation in 2024 — while growing revenue 7x in two years and leading the Forrester Wave for Enterprise Data Catalogs. Her honors include Forbes 30 Under 30, Fortune 40 Under 40 India, and Economic Times Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year, and she is a TED speaker.
