MotherDuck

Founding engineer on Google BigQuery, where he helped turn the internal Dremel query engine into a serverless cloud data warehouse that processes petabytes for the world's largest companies. He later served as Chief Product Officer at SingleStore. He co-founded MotherDuck in 2022 after encountering DuckDB and recognizing that most analytical workloads do not require hyperscale infrastructure — they need speed, simplicity, and great developer experience. MotherDuck is built in partnership with the DuckDB team and raised $52.5M at a $400M valuation.

Spent his career at Google BigQuery as a product manager and as Technical Director in the Google Cloud Office of the CTO, helping shape BigQuery's architecture and product direction. He then served as VP of Product at Firebolt before co-founding MotherDuck in 2022 as one of its first members, bringing hyperscale cloud database product experience. His shared background with CEO Jordan Tigani — both having built and questioned the complexity of petabyte-scale systems — drove the company's 'small data' manifesto and DuckDB-based architecture.

Attended the University of Washington. She built her career in enterprise SaaS customer success and go-to-market leadership, including VP of Customer Success at Outreach, VP of Client Success at Sprinklr, Head of Customer Success — Retail at Adobe, and VP of Global Account Management at Fast. She co-founded MotherDuck in 2022 as VP Operations and GTM, bringing the enterprise commercial and customer experience expertise needed to bring a developer-first analytics product to market at scale.

Started his career as a software engineer before building a 15-year career leading developer relations and growth marketing teams at Google (where he worked on BigQuery's developer ecosystem), Databricks, and Neo4j. He authored O'Reilly's 'Getting Started with OAuth 2.0' and advises B2B SaaS startups on developer-led growth as a Partner at Hypergrowth Partners. He co-founded MotherDuck in 2022 to lead Marketing and DevRel, drawing on deep experience translating technical database products into developer communities and commercial growth.
