Holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Cryptography from NYU. He began his career as a software engineer at FactSet Research Systems and YieldMo before co-founding Concord.io, a high-performance stream-processing engine that was acquired by Akamai Technologies in 2016. He then served as Principal Software Engineer at Akamai until January 2019. He founded Redpanda Data in 2019 with the vision of building a Kafka-compatible streaming platform in C++ that eliminates ZooKeeper, achieving dramatically lower latency and operational complexity. Born in Manizales, Colombia.
