Bob van Luijt
Dutch entrepreneur born November 15, 1985 in Bergen op Zoom. He studied jazz and electronic composition at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts and attended Berklee College of Music on a VSBfonds scholarship, also completing Harvard Business School's Program of Management Excellence. He started his own software company in the Netherlands at age 15. In 2016, while running Kubrickology — a strategic design and software consultancy — he started Weaviate as an open-source vector database for semantic search. He has argued that software development is a form of linguistic articulation, a theme he explored in a 2021 TEDx talk.
