Hanwha Aerospace

Hanwha Aerospace was founded on Aug. 1, 1977 as Samsung Precision, became Samsung Techwin in 2000, passed to Hanwha Corporation in a deal completed in June 2015, and took its current name in 2018. It is headquartered in Seoul, trades on the Korea Exchange as 012450 and belongs to Hanwha Group, whose Hanwha Corporation owns about 34% of its shares. Its land systems business builds the K9 self-propelled howitzer, the Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher and the Redback infantry fighting vehicle, and holds a 705.4 billion won contract to mass-produce L-SAM long-range surface-to-air missiles. Its aerospace business develops and maintains gas turbine engines for aircraft and naval ships, and it is systems integrator for South Korea's Nuri launch vehicle. Shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean became a subsidiary and was fully consolidated in 2025 results. Revenue comes from sales to the South Korean government and export customers. 2025 consolidated revenue rose 137% to 26.61 trillion won and operating profit rose 75% to 3.03 trillion won; ground weapons earned 2.01 trillion won of operating profit and ended 2025 with about 37.2 trillion won of orders.
