Helsing

Computational biologist trained at Oxford (B.A. Biology) and Sussex (M.Sc. Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems) who previously founded NaturalMotion, one of the U.K.'s most successful games and technology startups known for its physics-based animation engine. Named one of MIT's Top 100 Innovators, he co-founded Helsing in 2021 to apply AI to democratic defense, raising over $825 million from Prima Materia, Elad Gil, Accel, and General Catalyst. He serves as co-CEO alongside Gundbert Scherf.

Holds graduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Cambridge (Marie Curie Fellow), the Free University of Berlin, and Sciences Po Paris. He was a Partner at McKinsey & Company overseeing aerospace, defense, and technology sectors, and from 2014 to 2016 served as a special representative in the German Federal Ministry of Defence. He co-founded Helsing in 2021 and serves as co-CEO, responsible for government relationships and strategic direction across Germany, the U.K., and other allied nations.

Physicist from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich who worked on AI applications for healthcare at Helmholtz Zentrum München before founding Hellsicht, an AI tech firm that collaborated with leading defense companies. He won a major machine learning competition with a $1 million prize and has published AI research in top-tier journals. At Helsing he leads technology and engineering as President, applying deep learning to perception and sensor fusion problems across combat aircraft and drone programs.
