Rebellion Defense

A serial entrepreneur from Seattle who founded multiple venture-backed software startups and led engineering teams at enterprise companies. He was recruited by then-Secretary of Defense Ash Carter to found the Defense Digital Service in 2015, where his team launched Hack the Pentagon, the JEDI Cloud initiative, and provided technical expertise on the F-35 and Next Generation GPS programs under both the Obama and Trump administrations. He departed DDS in 2019 to co-found Rebellion Defense, which builds AI-enabled software for national security; he is a fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center and a lecturer at Stanford's CS department.

A former U.K. Ministry of Defence intelligence officer and strategy advisor with two deployments to Afghanistan. He served as Deputy Director of the U.K. Government Digital Service, leading teams implementing emerging technologies across government, then built the public-sector business at Improbable, a billion-dollar cloud simulation startup. He co-founded Rebellion Defense in 2019, bringing a transatlantic government technology perspective that has helped the company establish both U.S. and U.K. defense and intelligence contracts.
