Joe Laurienti
Holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California. He worked on Blue Origin's BE-3 engine and on SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft, Merlin engine, and Merlin D Vacuum engine through development, manufacturing, and flight qualification. He founded Ursa Major in 2015 to bring a market-oriented product philosophy to rocket propulsion; the company became the first American firm to fire an oxygen-rich staged combustion engine — previously a Russian monopoly — and has delivered over 100 engines with more than 100,000 seconds of hotfire testing. He led the company for nine years before transitioning from CEO.
