Studied computer science at Carnegie Mellon University, then worked at Microsoft and served as VP Engineering at MemSQL (later SingleStore). Founded Impira, an AI-powered asset intelligence platform for unstructured data, which was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Enterprise Technology (2020) and later acquired by Figma. Post-acquisition, became Head of ML Platform at Figma. The core pain point that led to Braintrust came directly from his Impira experience: when his team improved aggregate model performance by a few percent, some banking customers saw regressions on their specific use cases—revealing the need for robust, per-scenario evaluation and observability tooling that Braintrust now provides.
