A decentralized-identity protocol for issuing, holding, and verifying W3C verifiable credentials with privacy by default. Issuers attest claims to a user's wallet, and the holder can later prove a statement, such as being over 18 or a verified entity, to any verifier using zero-knowledge proofs that reveal nothing beyond the claim. It is chain-agnostic and runs on EVM-compatible networks, giving developers an identity layer that works across both onchain and traditional web applications without a central identity provider.
Open-source zero-knowledge proof tooling pioneered by the team, including the Circom circuit language and the SnarkJS library. These tools let developers write and verify ZK circuits and are widely adopted across the broader cryptography ecosystem, powering numerous protocols and applications beyond Privado ID itself. They form the cryptographic foundation that the Privado ID identity protocol uses to generate succinct, privacy-preserving proofs about a user's credentials.
