A privacy-preserving digital identity credential that proves a user is a unique, real human without revealing who they are. After verification, World ID can be presented to apps and websites using zero-knowledge proofs so a person can demonstrate they are human and unique while staying anonymous. It is positioned as anti-bot and anti-Sybil infrastructure for an internet increasingly populated by AI agents, letting services gate access, airdrops, and votes to verified humans.
A custom biometric hardware device, roughly the size of a volleyball, that scans a person's iris to confirm they are a unique human and issue a World ID. The Orb computes an iris code locally and is designed so the raw biometric image does not need to be retained, addressing privacy concerns. Tools for Humanity operates Orbs at physical sites and through partners, and has introduced a smaller, more portable Orb Mini to widen distribution and accessibility for sign-ups.
