Trulioo owns the breadth advantage that is hardest to build in verification: a single-API network connecting to hundreds of data sources to verify individuals and businesses across more than 195 countries, and it has leaned decisively into the higher-value, harder-to-replicate half of that — KYB business verification — where it reported staggering momentum, roughly 1,966% growth in US KYB transaction volume since 2023 and 102% year-over-year, processing more than 20 million transactions for US customers in 2025. Business verification is stickier and higher-ASP than consumer KYC because beneficial-ownership and entity checks are genuinely complex and jurisdiction-specific, and Trulioo's global coverage means one integration replaces dozens of local point solutions. The 2021 $394M Series D led by TCV at a $1.75B valuation minted a durable Canadian unicorn, and the company crossed roughly $150M in revenue by 2024 with APAC revenue up 64% in 2025. New CEO Vicky Bindra — a Nuvei, Visa, and Mastercard veteran who took over in April 2025 — has rebuilt the executive bench through 2026 (new revenue, risk/strategy, transformation, and finance chiefs), signaling a professionalized push toward enterprise scale and, plausibly, an eventual IPO. In a world where onboarding both customers and businesses globally is a regulatory necessity, the jurisdiction-aware network with a deep KYB moat is a franchise.

Trulioo's core is a data-aggregation network, and aggregators are structurally squeezed: they depend on hundreds of upstream data sources they don't own, pay to license, and cannot fully control for quality or continuity, while downstream customers can and do go direct to those same sources or to regional specialists as they scale. The consumer-KYC half of the business is being commoditized on price by a crowded field — Onfido/Entrust, Jumio, Veriff, Sumsub, Persona, Socure — and the reusable-identity and mDL trends threaten to disintermediate per-check verification revenue over time. The sweeping executive turnover through 2025–2026 reads two ways: Bindra is professionalizing the company, but a near-total refresh of the C-suite within a year of a leadership change also signals disruption, strategic reset, and the risk of a difficult stretch as the new team beds in. The $1.75B mark was set in the frothy 2021 market and has not been refreshed since; a down-round or a soft IPO would reset expectations for a business that grew to only ~$150M revenue in the three years after a $394M raise. The eye-popping KYB percentage growth flatters a small base, and KYB — while defensible — is a slower-moving enterprise sale. Trulioo has breadth, but breadth without depth of ownership over the underlying data is a margin-pressured position in a market racing toward commoditization.
