Vouched has made the sharpest strategic pivot in identity verification: while the rest of the field fights over verifying humans, Vouched extended the same lifecycle — onboard, verify, monitor — to AI agents through its Know Your Agent (KYA) suite, and the market is coming to it. In 2025 the company raised a $17M Series A led by Spring Rock Ventures (total funding ~$22M) explicitly to build on KYA's early success, and by 2026 KYA had grown into a full agentic-identity platform — Agent Checkpoint, Agent Detect for real-time agent detection, Agent Govern for permissioning via MCP-Identity, and the community-driven KnowThat.ai trust directory. The standards momentum is the strongest signal: in March 2026 Vouched's Model Context Protocol–Identity specification was donated to the Decentralized Identity Foundation and is advancing as KYA-OS, an identity-and-delegation standard for the full range of agentic protocols — positioning a Seattle startup at the center of the emerging standard rather than reselling someone else's. The core human-IDV business is real and growing too: Vouched processes millions of verifications annually, its automated identity proofing is available inside the Epic Toolbox for MyChart patient verification (a serious healthcare distribution channel), and it won "Identity Verification Solution of the Year" in the 2026 FinTech Breakthrough Awards. If the agentic economy needs a Know-Your-Agent layer the way finance needed KYC, Vouched has first-mover position and a standard forming around it.
