Chase Lochmiller
Chase Lochmiller studied mathematics and physics at MIT as an undergraduate and holds a master's degree in computer science from Stanford. He worked as a quantitative researcher at GETCO and Jump Trading before becoming a general partner at Polychain Capital, a $1 billion fund investing in blockchain technologies and digital assets. He co-founded Crusoe in 2018 with childhood friend Cully Cavness after identifying the opportunity to redirect flared natural gas from oil drilling to power computing workloads, reducing emissions while providing cheap energy for data-intensive applications including AI inference.
