Mateo Jaramillo spent nearly a decade at Tesla, initially running the drivetrain business before creating and leading Tesla's Energy Storage group, which produced the Powerwall, Powerpack, and utility-scale Megapack products. In 2017 he founded Verse Energy to pursue long-duration storage, which merged with an MIT spinout to form Form Energy. As CEO, Jaramillo has led Form Energy through its iron-air battery development and its first utility-scale deployment partnerships, applying the manufacturing and commercialization disciplines he honed building Tesla's stationary energy business.

Yet-Ming Chiang is a professor of materials science at MIT and one of the most cited battery scientists in the world. He previously co-founded A123 Systems, which commercialized lithium iron phosphate batteries for EVs and grid storage before going public in 2009. Chiang co-founded Form Energy in 2017 around research into iron-air electrochemistry, having spun out Baseload Renewables as an MIT lab project focused on multi-day energy storage. His academic and entrepreneurial track record in battery chemistry provided Form Energy with the scientific foundation for its low-cost iron-air cell technology.

Ted Wiley serves as President and COO at Form Energy and was one of five co-founders who established the company in 2017. He joined the founding effort at the invitation of Yet-Ming Chiang, recognizing the commercial potential of iron-air chemistry for long-duration grid storage. Wiley brings operational and commercialization experience to the company, overseeing Form Energy's manufacturing scale-up and utility partnerships. His business background complements the scientific founders and has been central to Form's transition from research stage to its first utility-contracted deployments.

William Woodford was a top student of Yet-Ming Chiang at MIT, spending several years developing advanced lithium-ion battery materials in Chiang's lab before becoming a co-founder of Form Energy in 2017. His doctoral research on electrochemical systems informed the iron-air cell architecture that Form Energy is commercializing. Woodford contributed deep materials science expertise to Form's founding team, helping translate the iron-air chemistry from academic concept into an engineered cell suitable for multi-day grid storage applications.

Marco Ferrara co-founded Form Energy in 2017 and led the initial business case modeling that shaped the company's long-duration storage strategy. With a background in energy economics and systems analysis, Ferrara helped the founding team establish the commercial rationale for iron-air batteries as a cost-competitive alternative to natural gas peakers for multi-day grid balancing. His quantitative modeling of storage value stacks was instrumental in securing Form Energy's early venture backing and shaping its utility partnership strategy.
