Rick Luebbe served as an Army aviation officer, led an aeroscout platoon in Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star and two Air Medals, before transitioning to technology entrepreneurship. He co-founded Hubspan, an early B2B web integration company, and later co-founded EnerG2 in 2003, a manufacturer of carbon materials for energy applications, growing it to acquisition by BASF in 2016. Luebbe spun Group14 Technologies out of EnerG2 in 2015 to focus on silicon-carbon composite anode materials for batteries. His track record scaling engineered materials companies gives Group14 operational credibility alongside its chemistry innovation.

Aaron Feaver served as Chief Technology Officer at EnerG2, the carbon materials startup co-founded by Rick Luebbe, before becoming a co-founder of Group14 Technologies when it was spun out in 2015. Feaver's materials science expertise in nanoporous carbon synthesis was central to developing EnerG2's products and carried directly into Group14's silicon-carbon composite anode research. His chemistry background underpins Group14's SCC55 anode material, which replaces graphite with a silicon-carbon scaffold to increase lithium-ion battery energy density by more than 20 percent.

Rick Costantino built his reputation as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry before joining EnerG2 alongside Rick Luebbe, where he fostered a culture of materials innovation. He co-founded Group14 Technologies in 2015 as a spinout from EnerG2 and serves as CTO, leading chemistry and process development for the company's silicon-carbon composite anode material. Costantino's materials science expertise spans pharma-grade synthesis precision and energy storage applications, making him central to Group14's ability to manufacture SCC55 with the consistency required for high-volume battery cell production.
