Kunal Girotra
Kunal Girotra holds a B.Tech from Nagpur University and a master's degree in chemical engineering from Stanford University. He spent five years at Samsung Electronics as an R&D engineer, then six years at ThinSilicon Corporation as Director of Process Engineering, scaling thin-film solar manufacturing. He joined Tesla Energy in 2014 and rose to head of Tesla Energy, overseeing product, deployment, and operations before leaving in March 2020. Girotra founded Lunar Energy in August 2020 to build home battery systems and virtual power plants. The company has raised $300 million from Sunrun, SK Group, ITOCHU, and Honda.
