Jose N. Reyes
José N. Reyes holds a B.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of Florida and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in nuclear engineering from the University of Maryland. He spent nearly a decade as a thermal hydraulics research engineer in the Reactor Safety Division of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission before joining Oregon State University, where he chaired the Department of Nuclear Engineering, directed the Advanced Thermal Hydraulic Research Laboratory, and is now Professor Emeritus. Reyes co-designed NuScale's passively cooled small modular reactor and has served as CTO since the company's 2007 founding. He holds co-inventor credits on more than 200 patents across 20 countries and has received the ANS Walter H. Zinn Medal.
