David Anderson
David Anderson is Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he directed the Helically Symmetric eXperiment (HSX) — the world's first optimized stellarator — for decades. His research demonstrated that mathematically optimizing magnetic field geometry dramatically improves stellarator plasma performance, the core physics insight behind Type One Energy's commercial approach. Anderson co-founded Type One Energy to commercialize stellarator fusion using high-temperature superconducting coils, and serves as VP Systems Engineering, applying his decades of experimental stellarator operation at UW-Madison to the company's reactor design.
