Voltus's software platform enrolls batteries, smart thermostats, on-site generation and adjustable industrial processes, then bids the pooled flexibility into demand-response and capacity programs. It covers nine wholesale markets in the US and Canada, from PJM and ERCOT to IESO and AESO. Customers track their market earnings through the Cashdash portal.
A program, launched in PJM in September 2025, through which a data-center developer finances distributed flexibility in surrounding communities and counts those megawatts toward its own capacity needs. Google signed a 100 MW BYOC deal in June 2026 and expanded it by 1,070 MW on October 22, 2026, with commitments running through 2040. Voltus expects to ramp the Google portfolio to full capacity over three to four years.
Voltus gives battery owners market access to earn revenue from stored energy, and its Peak Saver service helps commercial and industrial sites avoid peak demand charges. The company added battery capability with its June 2026 acquisition of Brightfield AI, and batteries carry much of its planned BYOC build-out.
