David Klimstra
A pathologist with more than three decades at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he served as Chair of the Department of Pathology. Klimstra received his MD and completed his residency in anatomic pathology at Yale, followed by a fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology at MSK. His research on GI, liver, and pancreatic tumors — particularly precursors to pancreatic cancer — provided the clinical foundation for Paige, which he co-founded with MSK colleagues in 2017. He served as the company's Chief Medical Officer from 2021 to 2024 before returning to Yale as Professor of Pathology. Paige went on to secure the first FDA approval for an AI product in digital pathology.
