East Ventures
Southeast Asia's pioneering sector-agnostic VC — first cheques into Indonesia's defining startups.
East Ventures was founded in 2009 by Willson Cuaca, Batara Eto and Taiga Matsuyama and became the most active early-stage investor in Southeast Asia, operating from Jakarta with a presence in Singapore and Tokyo. The sector-agnostic firm has backed more than 300 companies from seed to growth and was the first investor in Indonesian unicorns Tokopedia and Traveloka. It was also Indonesia's first VC signatory of the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment.
