Founded in 1998 by Yasuhiko Yurimoto, Global Brain is an independent Tokyo-based venture capital firm that has invested in more than 400 startups from seed to pre-IPO, with offices spanning the US, Europe and Asia. Alongside its own funds it manages corporate venture capital funds for major Japanese enterprises, and pairs investment with hands-on operational support from a large team of investors and specialists. Its track record includes dozens of IPOs and acquisitions, most prominently Mercari.
