ABB provides industrial robots, automation equipment, and electrification systems for factories and infrastructure globally. Robotics & Discrete Automation division generates ~$10B annually. Acquired ASTI Mobile Robotics and others to expand autonomous mobile robot portfolio. In October 2025, ABB announced it would divest its Robotics division to SoftBank Group for $5.375B; the sale is pending and expected to close in mid-to-late 2026.
One of the Big Four industrial robotics incumbents, ABB bridges electrification and automation in heavy industry.
