KUKA designs and manufactures industrial robots and automated production systems for automotive and general industry. Acquired by Chinese appliance maker Midea Group in 2016; fully delisted from Frankfurt Stock Exchange in mid-2022 after Midea bought the remaining ~5% stake. Now a wholly owned private subsidiary of Midea. Orange robots widely deployed in automotive welding and assembly.
One of the Big Four robotics incumbents, KUKA pioneered lightweight robots and remains central to European auto manufacturing.
