Nominal

An MIT graduate (Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Political Science) and Harvard Business School MBA holder who served as a nuclear submarine officer — 484 days underwater — and then as a Navy Congressional Liaison in the U.S. House of Representatives. He subsequently invested at Lux Capital and served as Head of Defense at Saildrone before co-founding Nominal in 2024. Nominal builds a unified industrial data stack to transform how hardware engineers test and operate mission-critical systems in aerospace, defense, and heavy industry.

Holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS/MBA. He spent his early career at Lockheed Martin as a spacecraft engineer on interplanetary missions including the OSIRIS-REx asteroid-sample-return mission. Frustrated by the inadequacy of available data tools, he became an internal software builder at Lockheed before co-founding Nominal to give hardware engineering teams the same modern data-analysis infrastructure that software teams take for granted.

An MIT graduate in Computer Science and Theoretical Mathematics who built his early career in enterprise software engineering at Palantir Technologies, Vercel, and Newfront Insurance. At Palantir he saw firsthand the data-integration pain faced by defense and industrial customers. He co-founded Nominal with McCord and Strauss to provide an end-to-end industrial data platform that lets hardware teams analyze test data, monitor operations, and accelerate iteration cycles the way software teams use modern observability tooling.
