Standard Bots

A Duke University computer science and economics graduate who built two startups before pivoting to robotics: Etacts (acquired), and A Plus, a technology-driven media company co-founded with Ashton Kutcher that grew to 50 million monthly unique visitors before being sold in 2016. He also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Salesforce on social integrations. In 2017 he began developing Standard Bots from his New York City apartment, co-investing personal savings with David Golden. He testified before the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee in 2024 advocating for a national robotics strategy.

Holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He built a career in collaborative robotics sales, progressing from Inside Sales Engineer and Sensor Sales Engineer at Cognex to Sales Development Manager and then Director of Sales at Universal Robots, where he helped grow the U.S. cobot market across the Eastern region. His hands-on knowledge of factory floors and customer adoption barriers directly informed Standard Bots' product and go-to-market design.

Holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Wharton. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at UBS and then private equity associate at Thayer Capital Partners and Freshford Capital. He co-founded LeapPay, acquired by Funding Circle in 2014, and then co-founded Bowery Farming in 2015, scaling it into the largest vertical-farming company in the United States before co-founding Standard Bots in 2020, where he focused on strategic direction and market expansion.
