The numbers describe a company financing itself quarter to quarter at the edge of viability. Aptera ended 2025 with $9.6M in cash against a $43.9M full-year net loss, and its own filings say it needs another $45–50M just to reach low-volume production and $140–160M for high-volume output — with no committed financing for either. The public-market experiment has been brutal: the stock peaked at $11.24 on October 24, 2025 and hit $1.29 by January 23, 2026, an ~89% collapse in three months, with the shares falling 37.8% the session after the January dilutive offering and another 19.8% on the March warrant inducement. That is the machine the company now lives in — each raise ($9M offering at $2.00, ~$8.1M in warrant proceeds) reprices the next one lower, and the crowdfund faithful who paid $10.50–$11.00 a share in 2023 are deeply underwater. The timeline keeps sliding: messaging moved from first deliveries in June 2026 to "before end of year," and reporting on a March 2026 filing suggests low-scale production could slip further, contingent on capital that has not appeared. Reservations are non-binding deposits on a two-seat, three-wheeled vehicle whose real addressable market is untested; the original Aptera raised money on the same silhouette and liquidated in 2011 without mass-producing anything. The LG deal supplies cells, not customers, and 57 employees is a fraction of the organization needed to build, certify, service, and warranty vehicles at any volume. Solar-EV peers Sono Motors and Lightyear already ran this exact script into insolvency.
