Archer enters the second half of 2026 with the two things an eVTOL company needs most: certification momentum and a fortress balance sheet. In April 2026 it closed Phase 3 of FAA type certification — by its own account the first eVTOL company to do so — and moved into Phase 4 for-credit compliance testing, the news sending the stock up double digits around July 1. The money is there to finish the job: roughly $1.8B in equity raised during 2025 (including an $850M raise in June, days after the White House executive order creating the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program) left about $2.0B in year-end liquidity, still ~$1.8B after Q1 2026. The demand architecture is uniquely political and global at once: Archer is the exclusive Official Air Taxi Provider of the LA28 Olympics, expects first eIPP flights in the US in summer 2026 with early operations possible in Florida, Texas, and New York, and has a Launch Edition pipeline running through Abu Dhabi (in-country flight campaign complete, commercial flights targeted 2026), Ethiopian Airlines, and Indonesia (up to 50 aircraft, up to $250M). Its Hawthorne Airport hub is already generating revenue — $1.6M in Q1 2026, trivial in size but symbolically ahead of most peers' zero. The defense optionality is real: an exclusive Anduril partnership targeting a hybrid VTOL program of record, plus a first third-party powertrain sale to Anduril and EDGE Group's Omen vehicle in November 2025. Stellantis manufacturing, United backing, and a 400,000 sq ft Georgia plant complete a scaling story no eVTOL rival matches end to end.

Archer is burning roughly $190M a quarter — Q1 2026 liquidity fell $188.8M, the adjusted EBITDA loss was $172.5M with guidance to $170–200M for Q2, and FY2025's net loss was $618.2M — against revenue of $1.6M from airport operations, so the $1.8B war chest is about nine quarters of runway with certification still unfinished. The technical asterisk matters: while an uncrewed Midnight flew a full transition back in June 2024 and piloted CTOL and VTOL testing is now near-daily, Archer had still not publicly demonstrated a full piloted transition flight as of early 2026 — the maneuver the entire safety case rides on — and short-seller Culper Research has built an entire campaign alleging systematically misleading milestone claims, which the company dismisses but which found renewed traction into 2026. Production is unproven at rate: the plan called for two aircraft per month by end of 2025, yet mid-2025 disclosures showed six aircraft in production, and no achieved 2026 rate has been verified. The commercial launches that anchor the story are pilot programs, not scaled service — Abu Dhabi flights are still targets, Ethiopian expects just two aircraft in 2026, and Indonesia is a potential order. Meanwhile Joby holds comparable capital and certification standing, and Beta undercuts the category on capital efficiency with actual deliveries. The stock's ~30% drawdown to ~$4.79 in June 2026 amid cash-burn and insider-selling coverage shows the market repricing execution risk. Every quarter of certification slippage transfers roughly $190M from shareholders to the schedule.
